Good Reminders

This past Sunday we talked about common "lies" that Satan tries to get us to believe about ourselves, and we looked at why those lies are false. So this week I thought I'd simply share some scriptures that will be a good reminder to us all of how big our God is and who we are in Him.

When you face doubts or challenges that cause you to feel small and God to seem distant:
Keep in mind that if you feel small and weak, God loves to use the small and weak!
1 Corinthians 1:27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,

Keep in mind that if you think you are “all that,” your first step is to acknowledge that you are actually small and weak!
James 4:6 “God opposes the proud
but shows favor to the humble.”

Keep this passage in mind when you have doubts and fears about God’s presence:
Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Keep in mind that the one who is in you (Christ’s Spirit) is greater than the forces of evil around you!
1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

In Him,
Daren Penwell
