I wanted to share with everyone this very touching email I received following Sunday’s special prayer experience. As you will see it is a reminder of the importance of community and that God has called us to fight our spiritual battles side-by-side, with love and compassion. I asked the person if they would mind allowing me to share it with the church family, and they agreed. It makes me proud to be a part of Bailey!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I had a cool God moment today and wanted to share it. I trust God has me and will take care of me, but I admit it isn\u2019t always easy to see, and I try to put on my “I\u2019m fine” face especially with everything going on right now\u2026I went in, found a place to sit, church started and it was just me in the row. We were singing the second song and I was feeling alone, wanted somebody to be there with me, to not appear all alone, as I\u2019ve been feeling at times, and I was considering moving to sit by somebody. I was ready to move, which for me would take a lot to do but I was willing to, so I didn\u2019t feel all alone. I was turning to get my things, and I felt a hand on my shoulder. Somebody was there, coming to sit by me! My eyes were burning with tears as she didn\u2019t know what\u2019s going on in my life right now, but found me and came to sit by me. My heart leapt for joy, and I knew God orchestrated that moment just for me, in my doubt, in the lie that I\u2019m all alone, that he sent her to remind me of the truth, to encourage me, and to show his love and comfort to me. What a loving, faithful Savior we have, and I\u2019m thankful for Christ, and for those who are following him, listening to the nudges, and showing love. I\u2019m reminded when I\u2019m struggling, I really need others around and it\u2019s ok to be vulnerable, even if they don\u2019t fully understand, they can sit with me, love me, and together we can go to Christ, to share our burdens, and our joy.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n After this happened, the service continued and I\u2019m hearing about prayer and how we need each other. I was just smiling, as I wasn\u2019t alone, and better understood that others care and love me. Then it gets to the special prayer time. Inside I\u2019m begging for prayer, but my words are simple, \u201cLife is a mess.\u201d She grabbed my hands, and said, \u201cI\u2019m praying for you always.\u201d Then she simply asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s a mess? You can tell me!\u201d Looking her in the eyes I said something like\u2026things are rough, a mess, it\u2019s ugly, and there\u2019s a lot of unknown. She didn\u2019t judge, just listened, prayed for me, and said we\u2019ve got this, you\u2019re not alone. Wow! Talk about feeling God\u2019s presence, knowing he was right there with me, taking care of me, and taking away my doubt and fears. God\u2019s working in many ways and I love how he reminded me of his presence through my fears and doubts today and comforted me, showing his love to me right when I needed it. What a faithful and loving God!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u00a0Thanks for taking opportunities to try different things, encourage the church to be the church, and to remind us we are not alone and we need one another. May Bailey continue to be a place where all feel welcome and loved.
