But we don\u2019t get the God we create; we get the God who is. When suffering comes, this truth steadies us: our pain is not the final word, and our endurance is not wasted. Relief is promised for God\u2019s troubled people, and accountability is promised for those who persist in doing harm. This does not minimize pain in the present; it puts pain inside a larger story where evil does not get the last word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sermon emphasized that the longing for justice is not a flaw in you\u2014it\u2019s part of being human. We ache when wrong seems to win, when cruelty is rewarded, or when the faithful are mocked. God\u2019s justice means no one is punished for what they didn\u2019t do, no one is punished disproportionately, and no one ultimately escapes His knowledge or His verdict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This truth sustains faith in a suffering world because it tells you that God\u2019s courtroom is real, even if it is not yet visible. You can grieve honestly without despairing finally. And you can keep doing good\u2014not because you\u2019re na\u00efve about evil, but because you trust the Judge of all the earth to do right.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">What injustice (personal or global) most challenges your confidence that God is just?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">How does the promise of God\u2019s future relief affect the way you handle today\u2019s trouble?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Where are you tempted to believe that \u201cnothing will ever change\u201d because evil seems to prosper?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">What is one way you can pursue goodness today without needing immediate vindication?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Write a short prayer entrusting a specific wrong to God\u2019s justice rather than your control.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 3<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Romans 12:18-19<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because God is just, you are free from the exhausting burden of becoming your own avenger. Paul\u2019s command is not passive indifference; it is active trust. \u201cLeave room for God\u2019s wrath\u201d means you can refuse revenge without denying that wrong is wrong\u2014because you\u2019re placing justice into hands that are wiser, purer, and more authoritative than your own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sermon pointed out how quickly our hearts reach for \u201cevening the score.\u201d Yet retaliation tends to multiply harm, not heal it, and it often chains us emotionally to the person who hurt us. It does mean your next faithful step can be peace as far as it depends on you: telling the truth, setting boundaries, seeking wise help, and refusing to let bitterness become your identity.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Where do you feel most tempted to \u201ceven the score\u201d right now (in words, attitudes, or actions)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">What boundary or wise step could you take that pursues peace without ignoring harm?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">How has holding onto revenge affected your inner life (sleep, prayer, joy, relationships)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">What would it look like to entrust consequences to God while you focus on obedience today?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Take one practical step this week to move toward peace: apologize, clarify, forgive, or set a boundary.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 4<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Isaiah 53:5<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God\u2019s justice helps us understand the cross: Jesus did not die to bypass justice but to satisfy it with mercy. The sermon highlighted that Christ bore what we deserved so that peace could be offered to us. The punishment that brought us peace was laid on Him, and that changes what we believe about God when we suffer and when we sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the cross, God\u2019s holiness and God\u2019s love meet without contradiction. Evil is not ignored; it is judged. And sinners are not discarded; they are invited to repent and be reconciled. This is why God\u2019s patience is not weakness\u2014He delays final judgment so that more people can turn and live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you feel fear about judgment, don\u2019t stop at fear. Let the cross lead you to love, gratitude, and a deeper obedience that flows from grace. God is not asking you to earn relief; He is forming you as someone who has received mercy\u2014and now lives differently because of it.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">When you think about God\u2019s justice, do you tend to move toward fear, denial, gratitude, or trust? Why?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">How does Jesus bearing judgment for you reshape the way you view your past sins and present struggles?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Is there a place where you need to repent\u2014turning from a pattern and returning to Christ\u2019s leadership?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">What is one \u201cdesire for goodness\u201d you want God to bring to fruition in you this season?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Spend five minutes thanking Jesus specifically for the peace His sacrifice secured for you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthew 5:44<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus calls His people to love their enemies and pray for those who persecute them. The sermon acknowledged how impossible this feels when someone has truly harmed you. Yet the reality of final judgment can actually grow compassion: you would not wish separation from God on anyone, and praying for an enemy can loosen bitterness that otherwise hardens your soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This love is not sentimental and it is not approval of evil. It is a decision to seek someone\u2019s ultimate good\u2014starting with their repentance and rescue\u2014while still naming wrong and protecting the vulnerable. God\u2019s justice gives you confidence that you don\u2019t have to pretend everything is fine; God\u2019s patience gives you hope that a person can still change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, the sermon urged solidarity with suffering believers. Perseverance is not only personal; it is communal.
