As you practice this love, may the warmth of fellowship replace the heat of friction and draw others to the Source of the fire\u2014Christ Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 John 2:7-8<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John calls the command to love both \u201cold\u201d and \u201cnew.\u201d It\u2019s old because from the beginning, humanity has carried God\u2019s imprint, and with it a real capacity to love. Even in a fallen world, the echo of God\u2019s character remains, reminding us that love is not a trend or a tactic\u2014it is rooted in who God is and why we were made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s also new because Jesus redefined love with Himself as the measure: \u201cas I have loved you.\u201d The sermon reminds us that talk is cheap\u2014love must take on flesh in real life. This connects directly to the sermon\u2019s emphasis that the \u201cnewness\u201d of the old command is found in Jesus\u2019 example\u2014perfect, sacrificial, steady. The sermon clarifies that hate is not only hostility\u2014it can be indifference, ignoring needs, refusing sacrifice, or failing to truly see another person. The sermon\u2019s refrain\u2014\u201ctalk is cheap, show me\u201d\u2014presses us to test the authenticity of our faith. Today, let your love become measurable\u2014something someone else can experience\u2014so that your faith is not merely spoken, but embodied.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">When have you used words to give the impression of love without the follow-through of action?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Where do you need to bring \u201ctruth\u201d into your love\u2014honesty, clarity, or a difficult conversation done with grace?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Where do you need to bring \u201cdeeds\u201d into your love\u2014time, service, generosity, or presence?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">What is one loving action you can take today that costs you something (comfort, convenience, pride)?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Ask a trusted believer: \u201cIs there a way you\u2019ve needed love from me that I haven\u2019t shown?\u201d and listen without defending yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Day 5<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1 John 2:12-14<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">John speaks to the whole family of faith\u2014children, young adults, and the mature\u2014celebrating what is true of them in Christ: sins forgiven, God known, the evil one overcome, strength rooted in God\u2019s word. The sermon highlights that no one needs to battle darkness alone; the Spirit has been given, and the body of Christ has been formed for shared endurance. Love grows best in belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The warmth of fellowship is not accidental; it is the fruit of people who remember who they are and whose they are.
